James McAvoy | $20 Million

Besides Magneto, another comic book character who has garnered a high degree of recognition among fans all over the world would be Professor X. With that said, like Magneto, X-Men fans had the chance to see a younger Professor X grace the screens; and for this opportunity, we have James McAvoy to thank.

McAvoy spent most of his early years taking acting classes. He also landed a couple of roles for stage plays. After working on more on-screen projects, he got his first shot to fame playing as the character Mr. Tumnus in 2005’s The Chronicles of Narnia. This was then followed by films such as Atonement, The Last King of Scotland, and of course, Wanted. Nowadays, though, besides his stint in the X-Men franchise, McAvoy has garnered widespread acclaim for his performance in Split, its follow-up Glass, Filth, and His Dark Materials. Besides acting, he has also lent his voice to radio dramas and audiobooks.
