A career woman at the age of 15, Tyra Banks has been relentless in making a name for herself in the modelling industry. She became the first woman of African-American heritage to be featured on the covers of both Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and GQ. She also was Victoria’s Secret Angel for some time and a cast member of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Banks is also the person behind and in front of the reality TV series, America’s Next Top Model.

Banks has not put her last name to misuse as she had been very proactive in keeping her bank account healthy. She does this by making investments in women-led companies through her Fierce Capital firm, which takes care of all the business financing. It is a risk, but so far, writing a check to The Muse, a hiring and networking platform, has proven to be a wise decision. Estimates in 2016 point to the company being worth at least $100 million.
