Bill Gates is perhaps the icon of the technological revolution. Starting out as a computer programmer, Gates co-founded the largest personal computer software company in the world: Microsoft. Having been formed back in 1975, the tech mogul has served as the chairman, CEO, and chief software architect of the said company. His heavy pockets allowed him to be ranked among the world’s wealthiest since the ‘80s. It is worth noting that he once attempted to acquire a degree from Harvard, but ultimately chose to drop out to pursue his passion with Paul Allen, eventually forming Microsoft. The company gained international renown and has taken huge efforts in philanthropy. Together with his then-wife, Gates started the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
