Louie Gibson | Mel Gibson’s Son | Filmmaker
Louie Gibson is the near-split image of his father his younger years. In case you still can’t see the resemblance, his dad is actor and producer Mel Gibson. However striking their similarities might be, Louie didn’t go down the same road as his father. Instead of being in front of the camera as an actor, the celebrity child pursued a career in film production, working away from the spotlight.
Of course, Louie is well aware of the scrutiny and, sometimes, the brutal comparison between him, Mel, and his other siblings, who are also thriving in the showbiz industry. Despite that fact, he was able to make it in Hollywood with his first feature film, Happy Hunting, which premiered in 2017. As the director and screenwriter of the movie, the young Gibson and his friend filmmaker Joe Dietsch, who is also one of the producers, didn’t rely on his father’s help. Instead of making money loans, the duo funded the project through their company Selective Collective. Louie once shared in an interview that he wants to last long in the industry using his own ways instead of relying on his father’s name and connections. By the looks of it, he’s doing pretty well!
