Joely Fisher | Connie Stevens’ Daughter | Actress, Singer

Joely Fisher is an American actress and singer who is the half-sister of actress Carrie Fisher. She is the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Connie Stevens, so you can definitely say that show business runs in the family. Her breakthrough came in 1994 when she starred as Paige Clark in the ABC sitcom Ellen, which allowed her to be nominated for a Golden Globe. On the other hand, Joely’s first film role was as Averil in the comedy Pretty Smart (1987), wherein her sister, Tricia, also appeared. The actress then appeared alongside Danielle Ferland in the Schoolbreak Special drama Devoted to the One I Love (1991). Then came the 1994 film I’ll Do Anything, starring Nick Nolte, which boosted her career and led to more prominent roles.

Fisher went on to star in the 1999 comedy film Inspector Gadget and had guest appearances on Lifetime’s comedy-drama Wild Card (2003-2005) as well as Fox’s sitcom ‘Til Death Do Us Part (2006-2010). Adding more to her credit, Fisher made her Broadway debut in the revival of Grease as a stand-in. The alto singer once again became an understudy in 1998 for the revival of Cabaret. The credentials do not stop there, though. Joely’s musical career landed her not only on Broadway but also in albums. Tradition: A Family at Christmas was her most well-known record. Here, she and her mother, Connie Stevens, sang various Christmas carols. If you ask us, the actress-turned-singer definitely got the best of both worlds.
