Corey Williams has taken a career path in the sports industry, which is different from his father, Billy Dee Williams, who is an actor and a novelist. Before entering the NBA as a professional basketball player, he was already making waves for winning with his collegiate team at Oklahoma State. He also worked hard in earning a place in the national ranking during this time.

Following his tenure in collegiate basketball was his formal entrance to the NBA which definitely increased his credit card balance to have an independent life from his family. Following his career in basketball was his participation in the 1992 NFL, when he played for the Kansas City Chiefs. He also spent years going on and off the court from doing academic work and playing again for another basketball team. After retiring from the court, he was the head coach of the Stetson State Hatters team from 2013 to 2019.
