John David Washington | Denzel Washington’s Son | Actor, Former Athlete

John David Washington is an actor, producer, and former NFL running back from the United States. He attended Morehouse College and got his degree before signing as an undrafted free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2006.

Washington, like his father, Denzel Washington, and mother, Pauletta, decided to pursue a career in acting. From 2015 to 2019, he was a regular cast member of HBO’s comedy series Ballers. The younger Washington won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for his role as Ron Stallworth in Spike Lee’s 2018 crime film BlacKkKlansman. He appeared in Christopher Nolan’s science fiction action thriller Tenet in 2020. Washington also recently appeared alongside Zendaya in the drama film Malcolm & Marie as the titular characters. Washington will appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Danielle Brooks in a Broadway revival of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson in 2022. This cast will also appear in a film adaptation of the play, with a director yet to be determined.
