Hollywood celebrities are known for being trendsetters, thanks to their unparalleled taste in fashion, lifestyle, and of course, cosmetics. So much so that these things have now become a necessary investment for every celebrity in the industry. Looking perfect is a red carpet norm, after all.
Even the brightest of stars in Hollywood, however, deserves a break from perfection every now and then. Like us, these stars not only want to have a semblance of privacy but also free passes to roam around makeup-free. Here are some of our favorite celebrities who bared it all for cameras and still looked divine.
LADY GAGA
When it comes to fashion and cosmetics, Lady Gaga likes to take it all the way up. The 34-year old singer is never one to be shy about sporting the boldest fashion choices (remember the meat dress?) and pairing it with the wildest makeup looks. However, not even the most daring female artist of our generation can escape the desire of going au naturel. The singer/actress often takes to Instagram to post laid-back and bare-faced photos of herself in her home. She might look unrecognizable, but she is still every bit as beautiful as her red carpet looks. The Pokerface singer sure is a force to be reckoned with, and we definitely give her credit for being an inspiration to us all.
KATY PERRY
Just like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry also loves to sport vibrant and quirky looks. On her Hollywood days off, however, Katy likes to keep things simple. Just take a look at her Instagram photos. You’ll see that the Part of Me singer is not shy to show the world the real her that’s stripped of any bold makeup and extravagant costumes. She may have bared it all for the Gram, but we’re still jealous of her looks. Her skincare routine must be one expensive investment because her skin looks flawless! We can only imagine how smooth her skin must be.
ADELE
Compared to Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Adele likes to keep her makeup on the minimalist side. That doesn’t mean, though, that her makeup looks are any less iconic. In fact, her trademark winged liner and pouty nude lips have now become one of her most recognizable brands. During her downtime, however, the British songstress likes to strip her face down to nothing and simply let her skin breathe. You can even tell that she is quite a fan of going bare-faced as her natural looks are well-documented on her social media pages. We’re sure that for artists like Adele, going makeup-free offers some degree of liberation.
ANNE HATHAWAY
If you’re a fan of Anne Hathaway, you would know that the actress likes to go for the elegant and often soft red carpet looks, but the Oscar winner is also known for her makeup-free selfies. However, despite ditching the glammed-up look, Anne still manages to look like she’s worth a million dollars thanks to her skincare investments. If you come to think of it, the actress is already 38 years old, but she doesn’t look like she has aged a day from her Princess Diaries era.
NICKI MINAJ
Another music icon who’s not afraid to bare it all is none other than the Queen of Rap herself, Nicki Minaj. As some of you may already know, Nicki is all about high-fashion and fierce makeup. However, the rapper is also not afraid to strip her skin of cosmetics and share it with her fans on Instagram. She’s not even shy about stepping out in public without any makeup on. It may seem simple to most of us, but having celebrities like Nicki show us that it’s okay not to look photoshopped at all holds some degree of positive influence.
